Impact Resistance

Impact resistance is a material’s ability to withstand intense force or shock applied to it over a short period of time. Westlake Plastics offer the following materials for applications requiring high impact resistance.

  • Absylux (ABS)

    Absylux (ABS)

Absylux is Westlake Plastics’ family of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). Absylux is an economical all-purpose engineering plastic exhibiting good dimensional stability, impact strength, and stiffness. Absylux is a popular choice for prototyping parts where low volumes and easy machining are required. Absylux can also be painted and is easy to bond with adhesives. Absylux is FDA Compliant in natural (beige) and black for food applications.

  • Ethylux (LDPE)

    Ethylux (LDPE)

Ethylux Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is a semi crystalline polyolefin with a lower density and a higher degree of ductility than Ultra Ethylux/HDPE. Ethylux Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) has excellent chemical resistance and low moisture absorption properties. Ethylux Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is a good candidate for chemical environments, food processing and packaging applications.
